TENDER PROJECT FOR THE CASABLANCA WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT OUTFALL (MOROCCO)

UNDERWATER PIPELINES

  • Start Date / End Date: 2011/2012
  • Place: CASABLANCA (MARRUECOS)
  • Scope: Tender Project
  • Description:

The outfall tender project was designed. All of the alternatives proposed replacing the two base solution pipelines with a single larger-diameter pipeline with better hydraulic performance and the corresponding savings in cost and completion time.

The characteristics common to all of the alternatives:

        •    Material: HA tunnel and the rest in PE100.
        •    Length of pipe jacking: 1,021 m
        •    Total length of the pipe (HA+PE): 2,200 m (option 0), 2,500 m (option 1) and 3,000 m (option 2).
        •    Flow rate: 11 m3/s

    The characteristics of each alternative:

        •    Alternative 1: ID = 1,966 mm. High pressure
        •    Alternative 2: ID = 2,200 mm.
        •    Alternative 3: ID = 2,200 mm.  High pressure

The high pressure solutions were resolved with a specific sandwiched metal layer design compatible with the pipe jacking tunnel.

On the other hand, a complete marine climate study was conducted.
